As the sun began to disappear behind the mountains this evening it was accompanied by a sundog off to its left. Sundogs are so named because they do join the sun to its left and right as the light of the sun is reflected through the ice particles in thin high clouds.
Mid-morning today we also found a partial 22 degree halo around the sun, also caused by the thin high clouds.

upon the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself.

and we shall be saved.
(Psalms 80: 17-19)
